Students will:

  • Create a travel document/flyer of places they have been or would like to visit.
  • Use Fireworks software to resize, crop, add shapes, and add text and special effect to their document.
  • Import and edit images
  • Format text and position it in their documents
  • Align objects using the Align panel
  • Create a mask by using Paste Inside
  • Print their documents

The students will create a timeline that represents important events in their individual lives. The students will demonstrate knowledge of time order words, sequencing events, and several Fireworks tools (text tool, Smart Shapes, importing graphics, cloning, etc.).

In this activity, students will create a graphic project in fireworks, emphasizing the use of several tools in Fireworks to convey a visual story about three memorable or significant events in their lives.

Upon completion of this activity, students should be able to:

  • Open a Fireworks document
  • Edit text
  • Modify the canvas color
  • Import graphics
  • Cut and paste graphic inside the inner circles
  • Save the document to web as a jpeg file

  1. Students will conduct a research about a variety of events (3-5 events minimum) which occurred during the year they were born.
  2. They will utilize a variety of resources in order to acquire information about events relating to national and international events and their own family life.
  3. Students are expected to organize their information and present in the form of a news page . Different events should include title and paragraph summary
  4. The students will also be using the Macromedia Fireworks program to:
    1. Import an Object to a Fireworks Document
    2. Group Items
    3. Add, Format Text
    4. Position the Text and Draw a Backdrop
    5. Cut and Paste Text
